My husband and I spent several years living in Uptown Proper in Minneapolis. We greatly enjoyed all the culture, entertainment, restaurants, nightlife, and lake trails. Even after our first child was born, we stayed as long as possible in our tiny prewar brownstone apartment. It was hard to leave that neighborhood.
The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since those years, but one consistent thing is The Uptown Art Fair.
For those not familiar, this art fair is quite large and popular. It is a juried art show with thousands of artists from around the country. We have collected several art pieces over the years from this event and look forward to it. You can find original paintings, prints, sculptures, and more from the traditional to the extra quirky.
The Uptown Art Fair does tend toward the more unique art. This is not a craft fair full of wreaths and wicker.

This year (2018) the art fair is AUGUST 3-5, 2018: Friday 12pm – 8pm | Saturday 10am – 8pm | Sunday 10am – 5pm in Calhoun Square, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
There is food, entertainment, and great art.
Please support the artists and give it a chance! Stay for lunch and support our local businesses while you are at it. (Wink, wink!)
