There’s a whole lot o’ baking going on! Are you tired of my song puns?
I have a tendency to turn on the radio in our kitchen and dance like a goofball while cooking and cleaning. My kids are young enough to laugh and join in, but I’m guessing my days are very numbered in that regard. There have already been one or two scoffs. I heard the word “lame” come out of my eldest daughter. Ah well.
It is holiday time so I’m on the clock for shopping and baking. I also started a laundry room mini renovation, so we are strapped for time and energy.
I need to make SOME treats, but want to keep it easy. Immaculate Baking to the rescue! Immaculate Baking Co makes several baking mixes and pre-made dough that are made with organic or gluten free ingredients. We lean toward the gluten free side due to allergies in one of our kids.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Cookies
- 2 packages remade peanut butter cookie dough (Immaculate Baking)
- 48 mini pretzel twists
- 48 edible eyes from your baking aisle
- 24 cinnamon discs or any red circular candy. M&Ms could work.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Line your baking sheets with parchment. Remove cookie dough squares from packaging and mold dough into more of an oval shape. Place dough balls on sheets, 12 per sheet. Space them enough to fit the antlers. Press two pretzels on the top of each dough ball to look like deer antlers. Add the eyes and red noses to make a face. Remember they will spread out a little while baking.
Place in oven and bake for about 13 minutes. Pull sheets out and let reindeer cookies fully cool on the sheet. If you try to move them while warm your antlers might fall off!
These aren’t fancy, but the kids love them. And using a pre-made dough makes it so easy, you have the kids join in making them.
Luckily, gluten free pretzels are pretty easy to find these days. You could use the Immaculate baking sugar cookies mix, but it seemed the wrong color for Reindeer.
While I have a ton of gluten free baking recipes I’ve created over the years, I like a little convenience sometimes.
