Art In Progress: Abstract Paintings and Botanical Sketches

There has been a lot of experimenting going on these days. I am all about the botanicals lately.

Art in Progress: The behind the scenes look at creating available works and experimentation.

I started off with ocean reef doodles and it turned into full blown reef abstracts taking over. Every week, it seems a cactus happens. I love cacti. i have several. I also have four Monsteras and one of them is now eight feet wide. I am not sure how we will ever get it out of the house. So naturally, I decided to draw one. sketchbook practice is just practice, but the abstracts are actually available digitally.

Instead of using Yupo for all of my print art, I bought a big package of acid free archival quality glossy car stock. Yupo is  expensive, so I would prefer to save it for originals I plan on selling or giving away. Glossy cardstock works well enough with alcohol ink, but it dries quickly so you have much less time to work with it. also, there is now semi-erasing a mistake like you can kind of do with Yupo. I like the cardstock for color experiments.

The abstracts are available as printable digital downloads on Etsy! Print one out yourself, or upload it to a place like pixels.com to make into art prints or pillows!
