Young infants differ from each other in many ways, and sleep is no exclusion. Some sleep through the night at only a few weeks old, some a few months, and some……well, let’s just say we are still challenged with our three year old right now. There are a number of ways to coax a baby into sleeping better. Some people swear by essential oils, co-sleeping, sound machines, etc. For some parents and infants, swaddling has proven to be their answer.
Swaddles c/o Ziggy baby
Swaddling is nothing new. Babies come out of a snug and warm environment, into the cold world. It is no mystery as why so many infants love the comfort and security of a snug swaddle. All of my kids loved being swaddled. They just didn’t sleep as well without it.
You can pick out any receiving or muslin blanket and use it to wrap your baby, but the easiest method is to use swaddle blankets designed specifically for the task. A swaddle blanket like these by Ziggy Baby are made with adjustable velcro flaps, allowing your to wrap and secure your baby without struggles. The velcro stays put, so no worries about the blanket unwrapping. This style of swaddle also uses the least amount of fabric necessary, so it remains breathable in warm weather.
The fabric is soft and the cotton has a bit of give. The Ziggy Baby swaddles are designed to fit 7-14 pounds and sell for $21.99 for a three pack. They run cheaper than many other brands, making them an economical choice. Most babies will out grow these by three months of age. Once baby is able to roll over, you want to discontinue use of the swaddle, or only wrap it beneath her arms.
The super affordable Ziggy Baby swaddle blankets are available on Amazon. These make a great gift for any new parent!
