Busy Family Life Snacks: Yoplait Plenti

Life with a bunch of kids, all under age five mind you, can be crazy hectic. It especially gets tricky when my husband and I want to get in our own hobbies and interests to remain well rounded people. We are usually playing the time-balance game when it comes to our health. I am heading to the gym at 5:00 AM for lifting, he heads to his gym after work for boxing, and hopefully we meet up at some point to put the kids to bed together and settle in for some quiet time. This makes meal and snack planning a challenge since we like to eat fairly natural and cook from scratch. really though, it is more challenging for how we feed our kids. Toddlers are picky, and are notorious for rejecting many of the best protein sources, so we turn to a tried and true winner for those refined baby palates: yogurt.

Yogurt has gone through many metamorphoses through the recent decades, but the Greek yogurt trend is by far the best. I like the higher protein content of Greek, plus it is more rich. Add a few extras like some fruit and nuts, and you have a decent snack or meal component. If you are really pressed for time, or simply enjoy convenience, Yoplait Plentí is a new kid on the yogurt block that combines it all for you in one easy container.

Plentí contains Yoplait Greek Yogurt and includes oats, pumpkin seeds and flax seed all in one cup! It comes in a variety of flavors and is gluten free. Plentí makes a great on the go snack since it is higher in protein that regular yogurt and contains real sugar as opposed to corn syrup.

Best of all, my kids like yogurt. They like this gluten free Greek Yogurt. And with the added vitamin D, calcium and other nutrients from the seeds, it is a better option than plenty of other snacks. Some days, yogurt is the only protein my kids will eat, so I like to get more out of it. Not to mention, Plentí is an easy item to pop in a soft lunch cooler and bring along in the stroller.  We enjoy long walks with the jogger stroller, and if we stop off at a park, the kids usually start whining for food soon after. Plopping a Plentí on a picnic table takes care of that problem and allows us to stay out longer. It also makes a good dessert for us parents after dinner! I mean, sure a bowl of ice cream sounds awesome, but I can get as much satisfaction from yogurt for a better nutrition profile.

If you are feeling adventurous, mix the spiced apple and the vanilla together. Yeah, that’s right, I live on the edge! Haha. As soon as I am finished with my current Whole30, I think I will begin having a Greek Yogurt right before the early morning work out. I am not a fan of this fasted training thing!
