Eco-friendly Hand Knit Zubels

Some baby toys will always be classics, like stacking cups, rattles, plushies, and bells. When your baby hits the ‘playing’ age, suddenly anything can be a toys, but you don’t necessarily like the idea of all of them going straight to Baby’s mouth.

Rattle c/o Zubels.

Zubels toys are hand made toys, made with 100 percent cotton yarn, often organic. The dyes are low impact and packaging is sparse to reduce waste and environmental harm. Zubels also makes hats, clothing, and plushies for baby to enjoy and parents to feel great about. They have an adorable line of bug rattles, the Zubels Organic Zubugs Insects collection, featuring bug and insect toys made from 100% organic cottons and 100% eco-friendly dyes.

We spent the weekend entertaining little ones with Gordan the Grasshopper! Like the other toys in the insect collection, Gordan the Grasshopper, is all cotton and safe for baby to chew on. The eyes and antennae are knit and secure with no googly eyes or pieces as a chocking hazard. Organic cotton, safe coloring, safe to gum! The insects each have a bell inside, making them extra fun for shaking. The great thing about hand knit toys, other than being durable, it they don’t shed and leave piles of polyester fuzz in your baby’s mouth.

In addition to Gordan the Grasshopper, there are: Elizabeth the Bumblebee, Franny the Butterfly, Lanneybug the Ladybug, Nibbles the Caterpillar, and Stanley the Happy Spider. Each is currently about $15.

I highly recommend these for the 6-12 month age range when infants are really getting grabby and love making sounds. The little legs and antannae on the insects are the perfect size for Baby to grip well.
