A little one’s Easter basket doesn’t need to be all jellybeans and chocolate eggs. A few trinkets, toys, practical gifts, or a book about the true meaning off Easter are great items to replace the sugar-fest.

Toothbrushes and toothpaste were a given in our baskets when I was a kid. Perhaps my mother was trying to make up for the tooth decay brought about by Halloween. We also fill plastic eggs with loose change for their piggy banks. The kids seem just as motivated in egg hunts to get nickels as they do with jellybeans!
