^^A gun case! Yup. We might turn it into a built-in bookcase.

This last one is Wyn’s room. It looks just like the other bedrooms, so I am only showing one.
Unpacking and organizing has been slow going around here. As it turns out,  setting up a whole house is a much bigger project when you have two rambunctious toddlers and you are seven months pregnant.  It takes about 10 hours to complete one hour of work when you take a break to pee, change multiple diapers,  make lunch, do dishes, answer the door five times, ignore the phone ringing,  and try to keep the kids from killing each other or themselves in a non-babyproofed house.

The new place is nearly functional, but there is a lot of work to do. The previous owners had plenty of hobbies, none of which involved home improvement.  And that is ok, it is not everyone’s cup of tea. I don’t need a magazine spread as a home, but I do need it to be much brighter and CLEANER than it is currently. We have spiders and centipedes galore due to some poor choices by many previous owners and the general yard layout. Step one was getting the moisture reduced in the lower level.  The tile was a giant puddle and I don’t even want to know what is going on under the carpet. My kids’ feet turn black from running across the dark green carpet. I was going to wait a couple years before replacing it, but do I really want to have a new baby not even be able to crawl on the floor? Since it is just one room, it should not be too much money to replace,  so I am leaning toward calling for an estimate. With a bunch of kids and animals, not to mention it is a cold walkout basement, I am going to be replacing the rug several times over the years anyway. Between replacing a dirty, very old rug, getting new blinds,  and painting the faux wood paneling, we should be able to brighten it up nicely in the family room for the interim between now and someday when we have the money to do what we really want  to do with it.
I already have the changes in the freezer office underway.

Also, has anyone gotten carpet from Home Depot? Are they OK? Online reviews seem mixed.
