*Pillow c/o Essentia
When we purchased this house, we decided this move would include our very first new bed. Our mattress was 20 years old, the frame much older, plus our pillows were lumpy and stained by time. I had money saved and I learned or rather simply reinforced, something I’ve always known: quality is important and worth the money. I love our mattress and I thought I would love my pillow. You see, it was an expensive pillow to me, since my other pillows were always a $10 cheapie from whatever big box store. However, I spent months not sleeping all that well. What was comfortable to me awake was not cutting it during sleep. I was interested in the feel of memory foam, but as an ecoconscious person, I had a harder time getting past the environmental concerns. Therefore, I am pleased to learn about Essentia and try out one of their natural memory foam comfort pillows.
Memory foam reduces pressure on the body when used in mattresses and pillows, and remains hypoallergenic. Essentia makes the only natural memory foam in the world! Essentia memory foam is made from Hevea Milk, the white sap from the rubber tree. Have you ever had a rubber tree houseplant and accidentally broke off a healthy leaf? That white substance oozing out is quite useful! Essentia uses plantations that maintain proper working conditions without any child labor. Instead of petroleum products, they use essentials oils and plant extracts in their memory foam and latex, plus, the outer layer of fabric in Essentia items is made from organic cotton. Instead of importing foam, Essentia imports the sap and manufactures the foam and latex right in Canada, reducing shipping resources and supporting jobs in North America. And finally, Essentia memory foam is biodegradable. Without petroleum and synthetics added, this foam can biodegrade in as little as three years when exposed to the elements. It is the green winner of memory foam, for sure.
I have been using the Essentia Comfort Pillow for a few weeks and have been impressed and pleasantly surprised. The comfort pillow is made of memory foam and shredded latex for a supportive pillow that conforms to you while remaining hypoallergenic. The size is perfect on our queen size bed. The Comfort Pillow is 24 x 17 x 4 inches and maintains its shape well . I am happily surprised because I have never considered myself a memory foam person. I feel like it is too firm when I lay down, but perhaps that is what I need. I have slept like the dead recently! I toss and turn far less than with my previous pillow. My injured hip even feels a little better because I have been able to sleep flat on my back for the first time in my life. I am a convert! My old pillow (only four months old) is sitting in the closet. I am optimistic about the longevity of the Essentia pillow. I imagine it pays for itself.
Also, it should be noted that with this kind of pillow I can mash my face into it at night and wake up without goofy lines all over my face. Bonus!
Essentia carries mattresses, pillows, organic sheets, pet beds, crib mattresses and more. Plenty of their products would make a nice gift for your favorite loved ones!

Thank you for this post! I really need new pillows, my current ones are losing their fluffiness. I’m definitely going to look in to these!
I like that they make their foam with sap from the rubber tree instead of using artificial plastics made from chemicals.
I’ve heard great reviews on memory foam beds and pillows. We currently use the normal pillow from Target and I can say it already has sunk where my head lay down to sleep. Would love to try this because it looks nice and durable. 🙂
I like how it reduces pressure on the body. I would really love to try this pillow. 🙂
I like that it’s made of memory foam!
I like that they are naturally made!
I love the fact that they’re hypoallergenic!
I like that they are petroleum free and can degrade within 3 years when disposed of.
Im the same with the $10. pillows but if and when its in my budget Im going to try the memory foam. Im sure they would last long enough to be worth it.
I like that they are hypoallergenic. That’s important to me.
I’m really liking that you can mash your face into it and not have silly wrinkles in the morning. and that they are hypoallergenic.
I like that it’s all natural, not made of foam.
They look so ergonomic and comfortable!
I love that these products are made naturally and without child labor!
I would love to try one of these!!!!
So many great things about this company… I love that they use natural fibers, and try to bring jobs to North America! Plus, their products look fantastic too. 🙂
I love that it’s made of memory foam, it sounds so comfortable! I like that it takes pressure off the neck, my husband would love it! I have always bought cheap pillows too but after trying out a nice pillow you realize you do get what you pay for, that’s for sure! It’s worth it!
What a great sounding pillow. I need something with neck support and am having a hard time finding the perfect pillow – i have 6 different ones now and I don’t like any of them!
I have had back and neck problems since i was a teenager. I wake up everyday with neck pain. This looks like it would help me with the pain and hopefully help me sleep better.
I like that it’s a natural memory foam.
I like that the memory foam is made from natural materials and not from crazy chemicals or plucked off a poor animal
this pillow seems like it would be so comfortable, would love to try it
