Being a new parent, or even a seasoned veteran of parenting, can be overwhelming at times. Once you cover the basics of feeding sleeping, shelter, and clothing, there is still a plethora of accessories that can make each day more fun and stimulating for your baby or child. I know when I was pregnant with my first, I spent months pouring over research and reviews for just about every baby item on the market that caught my eye. Still, there many things I might have liked or found useful that I never discovered. That is where a cool service like Citrus Lane would have come in handy.
Citrus Lane is a subscription box service offering curated care packages for parents, allowing them to discover plenty of neat products, projects, and useful items related to kids and parenting. Each subscription can be tailored to the age of the child so as to be relevant as time goes on. You can choose between monthly, three month, six month, or yearly subscriptions and pick your box to be curated for ages newborn to five years old.
I recently received a Citrus Lane box for my three year old and 19 month old. (They like all the same stuff now anyway.)
Our box contained:
- A numbered bowling pin project which my three year old liked for counting
- An adorable book: Octopus Opposites
- Fruit straws
- A container of handy sanitizer wipes
- A tin of Paddington Bear band-aids
- A cute rubber ball
- A coupon for FabKids
They fought over the ball for several days, broke a few things while throwing it in the house, and then lost it. I know it is in this house somewhere, but I’m not in a hurry to find it since I value my lamps.
Honestly, I think the Citrus Lane box is fun more than anything. It is like getting a present every month in the mail. A three month subscription could be a nice baby shower gift. I think it would have been fun to get a box in the mail each month when I was stuck at home all day with my little ones. Well actually, I still think it would be fun, especially since we don’t get out much. Each box has a little something for the kids, and a little something more parent oriented. Also the value of the contents of your box is a little more than the box price so you can find neat kid stuff at a lower cost.
