Eco & Convenient: Dizolve Laundry Detergent Strips

Well, it is time for more detergent talk since, you know, I am a little too interested in something as mundane as laundry. If I weren’t, I wouldn’t like doing laundry detergent reviews!

This time I am talking about detergent with a twist. Instead of the typical liquid or powder, I have been using these nifty Dizolve Laundry Detergent Strips.
Dizolve is an eco-friendly laundry detergent in the form of dissolving, white strips you just toss right into the washing machine. Dizolve detergent is certified to be free of Parabens,  Phosphate, added dyes, perfumes, chlorine bleach, and 1,4-dioxane. It is also biodegradable and Vegan.

Because it is sheets of flat strips, the packaging is minimal and plastic free. Also, when you purchase Dizolve from their website, it helps support a variety of worthy fundraisers.

Easy Dizolve Laundry Detergent Strips are super convenient. You just tear a strip off of one of the sheets and toss it in your washer. Add your laundry and away you go. For small loads or HE machines you can use a half of a strip or for large or really dirty loads you can use two strips. I have been using two strips for Husband’s park clothes since they are filthy. I also use two strips for washing cloth diapers. I only use a single rinse and this detergent rinses out just fine. I was nervous the strips wouldn’t completely dissolve and I would find some gross starchy white crud dried to our clothes, but it wasn’t an issue.  I have been pleasantly surprised by Dizolve strips. They work better than I anticipated. (Note: I use the Heavy setting in a top loading Maytag Centennial with agitator.)

Overall, I like Dizolve and would buy it. They have a deal on the website right now that makes the 72 load box a pretty good deal.
When I began using Dizolve, I immediately thought it would be great for trips to the laundry mat. No big box or jug! I used to carry my clothes 10 blocks to the mat, rain or shine, and transporting a baggie of detergent was always a pain. These strips would have been cool. I also think they would be perfect for a new college student. Not only would they be easier when lugging stuff to the laundry room, but they take up very little space, which is important in a tiny dorm room!
