Smart Snugs One Size Cloth Diapers

The holiday season is upon us and with it comes the third annual Merry Fluffy Christmas event! Our sponsor for this event is the super awesome Smart Snugs! Smart Snugs is a Minnesota based cloth diaper brand featuring wet bags, inserts, and one size cloth diapers like the NatureSnug, SimpleSnug, and Snug Basics lines. I am really stoked to have a great cloth diaper brand in my home state, especially one that has great quality products.

Recently, Smart Snugs sent me a NatureSnug diaper to try out and I must say this is truly a great diaper. The NatureSnugs are one size pocket diapers with a snap down rise and crossover tabs. They are designed to fit from birth to potty training and the tabs include hip snaps for preventing wing droop.

The outside lining is the usual PUL waterproof  material, but the inside is where the nature comes in! The inner lining of the NatureSnug diapers have 30% polyester to maintain the stay dry aspect we all love about pocket diapers. However, the other 70% is a charcoal bamboo! Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial so it helps keep odors at bay. The charcoal color of the fleece is nice since it makes stains unnoticeable. The insert for the NatureSnug diapers are five layers in total with three layers of microfiber surrounded by two layers of a bamboo and cotton blend. The  insert is incredibly absorbent without being bulky. We have used it during nap time without any leaks. The bamboo blend in the fleece lining is great for sensitive skin since it is mostly natural fibers, with the benefit of just enough polyester for the stay dry effect.

Ireally like the Smart Snugs NatureSnug!

  • It fits really well. The size is really generous and the leg elastic is very stretchy. Even when I over-stuff this diaper for overnight, the legs do not gap at all. I do think it would be a bit big on a newborn, but I think the quality leg gussets would still keep everything in.
  • The hip snaps help this diaper achieve a good fit without gaps and without shifting when baby crawls around.
  • The legs are so stretchy, they never gap, but also do not leave marks on thighs.
  • The crotch and opening are wide so it is really easy to stuff.

Even with the super absorbent microfiber and bamboo insert paired with an additional microfiber insert, the NatureSnug is still not too bulky. My 10 month old is 16 pounds and on the skinny side , but this diaper isn’t too fluffy between the legs and fits under pants.

The most important thing about the Smart Snugs NatureSnug cloth diaper is that my husband really likes it!  He loves the charcoal color of the fleece and how easy it is to stuff and un-stuff. One of my husband’s pet peeves with some diapers is a small opening for inserts. he doesn’t like having to wrestle a wet insert out of a pocket. (Who does?)

The smart Snugs NatureSnug cloth diaper is a winner for our family. It is quality made and retails for $18.00, so the price point is just right for a good diaper.

*Update: This diaper fell apart after about six months.
