CJ’s BUTTer Diaper Rash Cream

CJ’s BUTTer body products are a product line created and sold by CJ’s Unique Boutique based in Colorado. It all started with CJ’s BUTTer original with its all natural ingredients and effective uses as a diaper rash cream and all around skin ailment remedy. Now CJ’s BUTTer has branched out into an entire body product line based on a formula that works!

CJ’s BUTTer Sent me some samples of the CJ’s BUTTer and the CJ’s BUTTer Bug Banisher for review.

Not only does CJ’s BUTTer® original work on soothing rashes, eczema, hemorrhoids, bug bites, and just about any skin issue, but it had plenty of other uses which inspired the creation of insect sprays, lotion, spray scents and cleaning products. CJ’s BUTTer® products use natural ingredients and powerful essential oils instead of any harsh chemicals or toxic preservatives.

CJ’s BUTTer® original Ingredients: Shea Butter, olive oil, coconut oil, lanolin, beeswax, cocoa butter, vitamin E, colloidal oatmeal, fragrance oils.

CJ’s BUTTer® PLUS Ingredients: Shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, sesame oil, vitamin E, neem oil.

Both the CJ’s BUTTer® original and PLUS are cloth diaper friendly and made from natural ingredients. The CJ’s BUTTer® original is great as a preventative cream for diaper rash and treating general irritation. The CJ’s BUTTer® PLUS is useful for treating actual irritation from wetness, detergent buildup, heat rash, and even yeast.

The texture is silky and light. I like how it did not leave a greasy feeling on the skin. The essential oils give each scent a nice aroma that doesn’t smell fake or chemical laden.

I have dry hair that needs a lot of moisture, especially on the ends. I don’t use silicone conditioners and most natural conditioners leave my hair frizzy and fried looking. I have started applying some CJ’s BUTTer® original to the ends of my hair and it keeps it from looking like I put my finger in the electrical socket while adding a lovely scent! Mr.JAC has very curly hair that stays kind of fuzzy when short (and turns into corkscrews when long), so he has had good luck using this instead of plain oils or cocoa butter. We both have very dark, nearly black hair, so it does look a bit damp with CJ’s BUTTer® in it, but it is not crunchy like with gel, or slippery like with oils.

It works nice as a general cream on my son’s eczema and as a barrier cream in my daughter’s diaper zone. My five month old has developed a large patch of cradle cap on her head lately. If I saturate it with CJ’s BUTTer® to soften it, I can remove much of the dried tissue with a fine toothed comb.

I recently use the Viva La Juicy CJ’s BUTTer® original on my underarms as deodorant! I am not saying you can just smear some on and go work out at the gym, but on a clean under arm, it keeps you smelling fresh on a day with light activity. I suggest scrubbing your underarm well first to make sure your pores are clear.

We live in Minnesota, which is known for its mosquitoes. Recently, while hanging out in the backyard, we were swarmed by a bunch of tiny unidentifiable insects who proceeded to chew us alive. My two year old has huge bites on his ankles and the CJ’s BUTTer® PLUS actually calmed the redness. The onset of bug season prompted me to put the CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher to the test.

The CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher is very exciting to me! We live in the Minneapolis lakes area, and even though we are smack dab in the city, the lakes and parks offer an insect breeding ground in the evenings. I normally don’t need to worry about ticks or too many mosquitoes in town, but there are swarms of large gnat like bugs that leave some nasty looking welts. The CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher really does cut down on the bites significantly! The bugs just hover around us without landing on the skin. We can manage a night at the Lake Harriet Band Shell without getting chewed up with this spray. Mr.JAC works for the park service and spends quite a bit of time planting indigenous trees in the woods or burning Buck thorn so the CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher is convenient for him as well. We both like that it is a pump bottle and not aerosol, plus the ingredients are all safe in small amounts.

The bug spray doesn’t leave your skin too sticky and the smell is rather nice. The peppermint oil and witch hazel really stand out.

CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher Ingredients: Hamamelis Virginiana (witch hazel) Distillate, vinegar, Glycine Soja (soybean) oil, Ricinus Communis (castor) seed oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) Leaf oil, Citrus Limonum (lemon essential oil), Cymbopogon nardus (Citronella) oil, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender essential oil), Mentha arvensis (peppermint essential oil), Salvis sclareo (clary sage), Azadirachta Indica (neem) seed oil.

I have not put the CJ’s BUTTer® Bug Banisher to use up in the North Woods yet, but I am pretty confident it will work as well as commercial bug sprays, minus the scary mystery ingredients. Also, at $14.95, the price is right.
