Art in Progress: The behind the scenes look at creating available works and experimentation.
Those gallery pics are always so nice looking. And the mock-ups in a room (In-situ) are maybe too nice too. Where are the toys and dirty coffee cups? is that just my house? I decided to post more art-in-progress shots since the dirtier side of painting is more interesting. Once we move and I have more proper studio, the photos may include a wider view. Let’s make a mess!
Carry Me Away is alcohol ink on Yupo synthetic paper. I used eye droppers, brushes, isopropyl alcohol, and Posca acrylic pens to create an abstract reminiscent of an aquatic scene. I love making little bubbles with rubbing alcohol and tiny paint brushes. Posca acrylic pens are great for botanical details, especially on Yupo.

Just Float started out looking very different and then I decided to coat the big rock in white. I had way more yellow and purple going on in it before, and I am never a fan of purple. Which means I should try to paint with more purple! Haha. This piece is acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and Posca acrylic on canvas.
