Actually, it is a clementine pineapple smoothie. well, we had both in the fridge and they intermixed. Is there even a difference? And it has vanilla protein powder. Actually, if you’re are not in a smoothie-for-breakfast mood, and more of a tropical-mind-altering mood, you can swap out the protein powder for rum. It could be like a jazzed up mai tai with a twist. Or a pina colada if you used real coconut milk. I generally stay away from those though, since they are way too easy to overindulge in. As a smoothie, this is very filling. I can never seem to finish it. Then I leave the cup in the car and fine it two weeks later covered in green fur.
Tangerine Pineapple Smoothie
- 1 cup diced fresh pineapple
- 2 fresh peeled tangerines/clementines
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup crushed ice
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (or milk of choice.)
Blend all ingredients together on high. It will be thick due to the amount of fruit. Despite the large amount of fruit, it is not really all that sweet. Unless of course you replaced your protein with Malibu Rum. That stuff is chock full of sugar.
**Disclaimer: I never suggest booze for breakfast. I’m just saying swap out a couple things and you have a deck party!
