For a while FuzziBunz seemed to go off the radar in the cloth diaper community as the brand went through some re-organizational issues. Then FuzziBunz lovers rejoiced, when they launched the new Sweet Beginnings diapers. New colors, patterns, styles, and products! Let’s take a look at the new one size diaper put out by the FuzziBunz revamp.

We sold FuzziBunz in our store for five years before closing up shop, and used them on our own kids, so we are very familiar with a few incarnations of FuzziBunz. Check out the post on the Fuzzibunz First Year Adjustable Pocket Diapers.

NEW FuzziBunz One Size Pocket Diaper features:

  • Fits 10-40 pounds
  • Adjustable internal leg and waist button hole elastic like the prior one size Fuzzibunz
  • each comes with one Organic Cotton/Hemp insert (no more microfiber!)
  • Elastic is still easy to replace with the button system. (No longer comes with replacement kit though)
  • stay dry fleece lining
  • waterproof cover
  • New roomier crotch width for extra inserts
  • More versatile sizing

So, what are the changes? Well the wing tabs are back to being more rounded. However, they still have the triangulated three snaps on the wing for security and preventing wing droop. The crotch is WAY wider. So for those of you who had trouble double and triple stuffing your previous one size FuzziBunz, never fear, your prayers were answered. The waist can also be adjusted wider than the previous version. Our test baby (Mory) is about 23 pounds and the older FuzziBunz one size are much smaller on her than the new version. The new version is definitely able to fit a larger size range than the old version.

The New FuzziBunz One Size cloth diapers still have the adjustable elastics that can be replaced. They also have the fleece lining and PUL outer shell. The microfiber inserts have been replaced with a cotton/hemp organic blend. On a personal note, I feel the natural inserts are not as absorbent as the old microfiber, but they are easier to wash since they are large and thin. I would order extra inserts.

Depending on the size of your newborn, you might be able to skip newborn diapers or the First Year Adjustable Pocket Diaper and go straight to the FuzziBunz One Size Pocket Diaper. I have found that even with my 9-10 pound newborns, it takes a few weeks for the one size diapers to fit well.

Overall, as a long time FuzziBunz user, I am really pleased with the changes. The price point has remained the same, but the product has improved. The wider fit is convenient and the new colors and patterns are fresh and fun.
