Sweet Chocolate Banana Protein Smoothie
One fresh banana
1/4 Cup plain or unsweetened vanilla whey protein
1/4 Cup unsweetened cocao powder (baking cocao)
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 Cup whole milk (or milk of choice)
1 Cup crushed ice
Place banana in your blender or blending container, followed by your Brown sugar, whey, and chocolate.
Add your crushed ice and milk. I use regular ice I then crushed with my stick blender.
Use the whip setting on a standard blender or with an immersion blender.
As I have mentioned before, my four year old refuses protein in any form other than chicken nuggets, unless I dish it out in Greek Yogurt or smoothies. Since I am trying not to buy any extra groceries in anticipation of our move, our smoothie concoctions have grown out of our normal comfort routine of frozen fruit and yogurt. I might have had a chocolate craving when I decided to make this one. Maybe. I figure this is better than some ice cream and sardine combo, or whatever stereotype pregnant ladies are supposed to crave.
