You Have To Be Willing To Break A Few Eggs
You make the change you want to see. Last December, I embarked on a quest to be happy. I have done this many times, and many times I am successful, but then life changes and I get off the path for a while. Moving, new baby, family crisis, etc., each throws me off center and eventually I strive to get back on track. The thing is, happiness can be a lot of work. Work, gym, kids, house, marriage….these things take nurturing and I am careful about what else I choose to add to the pan.
A smooth life takes prep work. You cannot just toss everything in a bowl and expect it all to work out. Some things needed some warming up. Softening so to speak. A little extra nurturing can make what used to look like a hardship into a wonderful addition to your life.
You also need the right foundation. A strong foundation that can hold it all together. For some this may be religion, family or their own self resilience.
To get what you want in your life you must be discerning about your energy and to whom you decide to give it. The ingredients necessary for your happiness, are not the same for another person. I prefer a simple, drama free life. This requires me to dump a few friends and even relatives along the way.
Sometimes you need to take a long hard look and realize you do have all you need to be happy. What makes it much more delightful is to share it with someone striving for that same happiness.
Break some eggs. Make some mistakes. Find your bliss. Create the life you want.
Just wanted to say that I love this post and this analogy. 🙂
